I love receiving mail in any form, as you all know.
I once had a pen pal, and that was nice for the whole two weeks or so we exchanged letters. Until she got lazy. But I'm not naming names (Poomobile).
Pants and I haven't seen each other in going on three plus years, but we send daily emails back and forth, mostly about her ridiculous baby and my ridiculous life. She'll randomly send me packages in the mail filled with calendars of hot priests (no, that's not a type) and sock monkey magnets. It's nice to know she's on the other end.
Orange likes to send me engineering-type movies through email. Mostly stories of drilling gone wrong, resulting in gigantic gas line explosions or lakes being sucked down into salt mines. I think he's trying to make sure I'm putting health and safety first in the workplace, but I don't do much heavy drilling at the library. I watch them anyway and we talk about them, and he uses big science words to describe the geological processes, and I mostly just nod and say "amazing". I like these conversations best.
Free Samples sends lots-o-emails. Mostly over the course of one day, and then none for days on end. But I can always tell they're from her because her religion forbids her use of punctuation, resulting in some gigantic sentences.
Sleeves is good with the email, usually ending her story with a warm and fuzzy salutation like, "I think you're nice." Brings me back to elementary school when your secret buddy would leave little folded notes in your desk next to your eraser and printing pencil.
Lucky sends cards. They're always sealed with a paw.
Bert sends foil balls.
Grandma sends birthday cards, but she never signs them because she likes to think that we can reuse them. She also lines her baking pans with butter wrappers instead of greasing them, and saves every elastic band she's ever received. I get weekly emails from her, too, mostly in 72 point font detailing the size of her tomatoes and the deals she gets from Dollerama.
As of late, my favorite emails are from Beef. What's not to love about this shizzle:

The last one is my favorite. I think someone's kinda proud of his teeth...

ps i think you're pretty funny and i am glad we are friends.
Well, I will admit, I was reading your blog and the further down I got, the bigger my pout got thinking "I send her emails all the time. I send her pictures of her nephew. Fine, if she doesn't like my emails, I won't email her again." And then I got to the bottom. Shame on me for doubting Library Lady and her adoration of Baby Beef. Boy, do I ever have egg on my face. Love you Pork :)
i like to type like i talk and rarely pause when doing that- hahaha
Quit your bitch'n Fork ... oh sorry, there's clearly some lingering bitterness after the blog hiatus you just took. Took me eons to finally get tapped into "La Vie de Femme de Bibliotheque" (think Marg was a long-standing admirer long before I event hit the B&J airways) and then you pull the 'candy from the baby' to live a life !!!
Dream in colour,
CT
P.S. You're swell and your pulpit brightens my day. I think Beef, Baby Beef and Papa to Baby Beef are swell too. Mama and Papa de LL are just plain cool.
P.P.S You're missing out on the National Capital Race weekend again this year ... I'll be doing my finest "Forest" impression on Saturday morning for some unGodly distance and time. Your bike-riding adventure provides inspiration though.
Pop Shoppe reads Bread and Jam?! Wow. No... Really? Damn. I need to be more P.C. with what I say... What will she think of my potty mouth?!
Good luck good luck good luck this weekend, sir! Muchas gracias for the puff puff and I'll make sure to pass on your kind words to mama and papa LL.
Say 'ola' to the crew out there for me, will ya? When can I come to our nation's capital for a visit, hmm? I'll buy the pizza.
Well Toque's summer festival schedule is filling up soooo ... oh, I didn't tell you? She does a baton-twirling-like routine with a glow stick and then finishes if all off with a big munch and the glow stuff is gone. Visitors to the Manner go nuts when she demos so I figured it was time to take'r out on the road.
But we could probably fit in some hostess-ess'ng so get the day planner out and let me know when the 401 is clear for ya. I hear you're not going to be tag'n along with Beef and Mama de Beef in a couple of weeks time? Figures.
